1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale Coupe

The Bertone-bodied Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Special was introduced at the Turin Auto Show in 1957. Lower floor pans allowed a lower roof line, and the radiator was also lowered to allow a sleeker bonnet line, which resulted in the 'low nose' moniker. There were 101 Giulietta SSs produced, and just 10 were aluminum-bodied examples.

This example - one of the ten aluminum-bodied examples - was delivered new to Ingeniere Rolando Boni in Bergamo on 23 June 1959 and was finished in Bianco Gardenia with cream and blue cloth interior. In 1960, the car was sold to Gianfranco Rovetta, who used it in some hill climbs. After several Italian owners in 1987, the car found a home in Brescia, where it received its ASI homologation. It was later sold to a collector in Torino before being passed on to its present owner in 1994. In 2007, the car was given a complete restoration.

In 2012, the car was offered for sale at the RM Auction's Monaco sale. The car was estimated to sell for €140.000-€180.000. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for €151.200 inclusive of the buyer's premium.
