1961 Cadillac Series 62 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible

Cadillac introduced the Eldorado in 1953. The fourth restyling of the model appeared in 1961. Tailfins had reached their high point in 1959 and by 1961, they were more restrained. The Biarritz model's unique feature was a spear molding running most of the length of the body.

Standard equipment on the Eldorado included power steering, power brakes, power windows, power vent windows, power trunk close, automatic transmission, dual backup lights, dual speed windshield wipers, outside rearview mirror, whitewall tires, and an oil filter.

The current owner's father purchased this vehicle in 1977 at Grimmadi Buick in Pontiac, Michigan. It features a rare Aspen Gold exterior with an ostrich grain leather interior. Options include fog lamps and an autronic eye, an automatic headlight dimming mechanism. It was the cover car and feature story in the July/August 2011 edition of the Cadillac/LaSalle Club's Self-Starter magazine.
