In 1967 the Pontiac 2+2 was the 'Full Size' high performance offering from Pontiac. It came with a large 428 cubic-inch engine, 4-speed transmission, front disc brakes and 15-inch wheels. The convertible version is very rare with just 10 still in existence.
It debuted in 1964 as an interior trim option for the Pontiac Catalina, with special door panels, bucket seats and center console. Pontiac marketed the 2+2 as the 'big brother' to the extremely popular GTO.
Beginning in 1965 the name Catalina was no longer found on the car as the 2+2 moniker became its own separate series for the 1966 model year. The 2+2 was given the 428 cubic-inch power plant, dual exhaust, heavy duty front springs as well as its own outer body trim appointments.
In 1967, the car was built on the same platform, but revered to being an option package and production was discontinued in the United States in 1967 due to poor sales. It continued as a series in Canada until 1970.
This car was a one-owner car and has won many awards for its superb and authentic restoration over the last several years. It has also been featured in Muscle Car Enthusiast Magazine and High Performance Pontiac Magazine.
