1930 Delage D8 Navigation
Ordered by the young Maharaja Holkar of Indore, this Delage D8 became part of the maharaja's garage along with several Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars, as well as a Gurney Nutting Duesenberg. This car, with its prominent Lalique mascot, has coachwork by Giuseppe Figoni five years before he joined with Ovidio Falaschi to form that famous partnership. With its 4-liter straight-eight engine, the D8 became the company's most noteworthy design, often described as the 'Rolls-Royce of French Cars.' One of France's most flamboyant car manufacturers, Louis Delage built cars almost exclusively for the super-rich - and the Maharaja of Indore fitted that description perfectly.
