1968 Brabham BT26 Navigation
Designed by Ron Tauranac who designed the first 15 Brabham Formula 1 cars from 1962 until 1971. It began life as a BT26 with a Repco 860 V8 engine and was converted to a Cosworth DFV engine and BT26A specs before the 1968 South African GP piloted by Ickx and resulting in a DNF.
It participated in 14 World Championship races with one victory at the 1969 Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport driven by Jacky Ickx. Its first victory was the non-championship Oulton Park Gold Cup August 16, 1969 piloted by Jacky Ickx. It has been raced by works drivers Jochen Rindt, Jacky Ickx and American owner/driver Gus Hutchinson.
In 1969 is was sold to American racer Augustus 'Gus' Hutchinson. It finished second to David Hobbs in the SCCA F5000 Championship finale race at the Sebring, FL, Dec. 28, 1969. Hutchinson finished first at the Sears Point SCCA Continental '49er and SCCA Dallas Grand Prix.
