This 1933 Pierce-Arrow Convertible Sedan is equipped with a 175 bhp, 426 cubic inch L-Head V12 engine with a three-speed manual transmission. It also has a four-wheel leaf spring suspension, solid front axle, live rear axle, and four-wheel drum brakes on a wheelbase of 137 inches.
The car was sold new in Hollywood, CA, reportedly to actress Carol Lombard. It was sold soon after her death in 1944 and was put in long-term storage. It was sold again in 1998 and restored over the next couple of years. The car is finished in a lovely shade of green with gray trim and a striking ostrich interior. It is the only 137-inch wheelbase custom LeBaron known to exist today.
This Pierce-Arrow was displayed at the 2005 Greenwich Concours d'Elegance where it was awarded the Best American Open Car Award with similar impressive achievements at both the Radnor Hunt and Burn Prevention Concours later that year.
