1958 Cadillac Series 62 Hardtop Coupe

The 1958 Cadillacs had a new dual-headlamp treatment, major stylistic updates included a revised grille that was widened to include small, round cleats where the horizontal and vertical bars met. The rear-wheel housings were unskirted and accented by five longer wind splits on either side. The 365 cubic-inch V-8 produced about 310 horsepower with the help of a single four-barrel carburetor, and it was mated to a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.

This Series 62 Hardtop Coupe is finished in black with a matching interior. It was acquired by the current owner in late-2007 and now shows just over 39,000 miles, which are believed to be original. There are correct bright trim components, and the black upholstery and carpeting are offset by a white steering wheel and black-and-white dashboard. The car is equipped with power brakes and power steering, and an optional radio and rides on a set of whitewall tires.

In 2012, the car was offered for sale at the St. Johns sale presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $45,000 to $55,000. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $45,100 inclusive of the buyer's premium.
