1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Roadster

With the help of the supercharger, the Bugatti Type 57SC was one of the fastest road-going cars in the world. The top speed was in excess of 135 mph.

The Type 57S was a sports version of the standard Type 57 and built on a short-wheelbase surbaisse, or low chassis.

This example wears a replication body built by Crosthwaite & Gardiner. It has a contemporary frame and many factory Bugatti parts. The eight-cylinder dual overhead camshaft engine is supercharged and displaces 3257cc. It produces 170 horsepower and is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.
