1992 Ferrari 348 GTS Targa Coupe

For 1992, Ferrari sold the 348 ts and tb as 'serie speciale' with pricing for the GTS models starting at $122,180. Power came from a dual overhead cam eight-cylinder engine displacing 208 cubic-inches and offering 312. The engine had five main bearings and a Bosch Motronic 2.5 port fuel injection system. Power increased over the prior years with the help of a lighter and less restrictive exhaust system. Other mechanical features included a five-speed manual transmission in the rear transaxle and four-wheel disc brakes.

Changes included F-40 style racing seats with matching leather covers, a two-inch wider rear track, and different taillights. Other changes included a larger front spoiler and a monochromatic finish. Prior years had a bottom that was painted black.

This particular example is a one-owner 348 TS that has traveled just 6,462 miles since new. It is painted in Rossa Corsa paint complemented by a Beige leather interior. It was purchased new at Cavallino Classics in Scottsdale, Az. and has spent its entire life with the original owner in Tucson, AZ. The 3.4 liter, V8 offers 300 horsepower enabling it to go from 0-60mph in only 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 171 mph. The car has its complete and original tool kit, full set of books, targa top bag, factory car cover, battery tender and one key with 2 remotes for the Alpine Car Alarm.

In 2013, the car was offered for sale at the Russo & Steel auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $43,450 inclusive of buyer's premium.
