1966 Chevrolet Biscayne Series Series 54 V8 2-Door Sedan

In the mid-1960s, when the street race wars were in full swing, Chevrolet introduced the L-72 427 cubic-inch engine offering an impressive 425 horsepower. It is not clear on the exact number of L-2 Biscayne's that were produced. Some sources suggest around 154 were built, while others believe that just 13 were built. It is also believed that only six L-72 Biscayne survive in modern times.

This example began life as a six-cylinder car that was originally sold new in Arizona. It came from the factory with a power glide transmission, power steering and manual brakes.

Currently, the car wears a two stage nocturne blue paint scheme. It has all original brightwork with the original front and rear bumpers that have been freshly re-chromed. The interior was completely refurbished with period correct material. The engine is a 454 cubic-inch unit with h.e.i. ignition, Howard hydraulic lifter performance cam, and Weiand stealth intake with Holley carburetor.

In 1966 the standard 14-inch wheels were pressed steel with drop-center rims. These have been replaced with 15 x 7 inch wide on the front and 15 x 8 inch wide wheels on the rear.

The result was a vehicle that has the look of the extremely pricey and rare L-72 Biscayne.
