1968 Bizzarrini 5300 Strada Coupe

Produced between 1966 and 1968, the Bizzarrini ranks among the most attractive GT cars to reach American shores.

Weighing in at 2,550 pounds, rising just 43.7 inches over the ground and motivated by a 365 horsepower Chevrolet V8, the car was designed more for competition than street use. To enhance performance further, competition parts available from the manufacturer included a quad carb set-up, a high lift cam, short exhaust, thinner body panels, Plexiglas windows, brake ducting, and wider wheels.

This car was among the last few constructed. Construction began at the factory in 1968 but was not completed before it fell into receivership. It sat incomplete until 1977, when the Laboratorio Automotori di Bizzarrini, a new company formed by Giotto Bizzarrini, opened for business and completed the car.
