1993 Jaguar XJ220

Jaguar produced 282 examples of its 200-plus mph supercar. Since Jaguar was not in the habit of building supercars and at the time, Ford had just acquired the British boutique, leading to conflict in corporate priorities. Production of the XJ220 was eventually delegated to Jaguar Sport, the subsidiary racing company that had been created in tandem with Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR).

In 1989, TWR had created a new powerplant for the XJR-11 racer, developed from Austin-Rover's Group B rally car and dubbed the JV6. The all-alloy turbocharged V6 engine delivered 542 horsepower and would power the XJ220. Its diminutive volume and size allowed it to be installed amidship and clothed with aluminum coachwork penned by Jaguar Design's Keith Helfet. Production began in 1992 and it was named for its projected top speed of 220 mph. The 220 mph mark was nearly achieved in a time trial on the high-bank test track in Nardo, Italy.

This particular Jaguar XK220 was completed in late June of 1993 and wore Spa Silver exterior over a Charcoal interior. It was originally sold through Jaguar Deutschland GmbH on January 24th of 1994 to a German engineer and business owner. From there, the Jaguar resided in storage for approximately eight years before being discovered by a UK-based firm that specializes in procuring motorcars of this caliber. The car was later sold into its current ownership and has remained in their car for two decades. Currently, there are 1,130 kilometers (circa-703 miles) on its odometer.
