1923 Lincoln Model L Navigation
This 1923 Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton wears coachwork by American Body Company that was designed by Brunn & Company of Buffalo, New York. It was catalogued by the factory but looks fully custom, with a low windshield, lightweight doors, and Art Deco touches throughout. The rear passenger compartment was appointed with courtesy lights and glove boxes, as well as with a bar to hold the lap robe.
This is a numbers-matching, original-bodied Illinois car. The earliest known owner was Florence Paskrich who cared for the car from 1929 to 1956. It was later acquired by Robert Brewer, passing it as a partially completed restoration to Ken Pearson in November 1962. He completed the restoration several years later. During his ownership, this Lincoln completed 18 Glidden Tours.
Currently, the car has 51,000 actual miles. It is powered by a 357 cubic-inch L-head eight-cylinder engine offering 90 horsepower. There is a four-speed manual transmission with semi-elliptic leaf springs in both the front and rear. In the back are mechanical drum brakes.By Daniel Vaughan | May 2013
