This eye-catching Hispano-Suiza J12 was delivered on July 13, 1933, to its first owner, Marcel Ballot. In the late 1960s the car found its way to Mexico, where it was acquired and brought to the United States. Lorin Tryon, longtime guiding light of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, owned this J12 for a few years before introducing it to its current owners, who acquired the car in 1985. The new owners carried out a meticulous restoration and, on the advice of his daughter, painted the car to match a sunflower. After the work was completed, the car was taken on the first California Hispano-Suiza Tour in 1986, and it came to Pebble Beach for the first time in 1997.
