1954 Ford F100 Navigation
Ford introduced the new F-1 pickup truck in 1948 and it was Ford's first new post-war vehicle. It was also one of the first pickup trucks to be designed with both practicality and aesthetics in mind. They had a stylish body with a great deal of functionality and practicality. It was suited for travel and work.
The second generation of the F-1 was introduced in 1953, and it was named the F100. The year 1954 introduced many changes with the most visual being the new 'strut-mounted' grille design. One notable option was the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, which was offered alongside several other manual transmission options. Ford also enlarged their older 215 cubic-inch engine to a total displacement size of 223 cubic-inches. 1954 also heralded the introduction of the optional 'Power King' V-8 engine to the F100.
This Ford F100 was built at Ford's Memphis, Tennessee, factory in 1954, and it was equipped with the new 223-cubic inch straight six engine. The truck has recently been given a ground-up restoration and repainted in its original shade of Sea-Haze Green.
