1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce Roadster

This Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce is believed to be one of approximately 835 examples produced in 1958. It was originally imported to the United States for retail by the Hoffman Motor Car Company in New York and sold new to a Chicago-based owner. Nine years later, the car had been relocated to Michigan in the possession of Michael Shonk, who sold the car in July of 1976 to Patrick Sadler of Riverview, Michigan. Mr. Sadler drove the car through at least 1971, though it is believed he may have stored the car after that time before selling it around 1980 to Robert Briscoe.

Mr. Briscoe, who intended to restore the Spider, stored the car and slowly disassembled it over the next 30 years. In 2010, realizing he would be unable to restore the car, he sold it to Richard Phillips, who promptly listed it for sale.

The car was purchased in July 2010 by the current owner, who began a restoration. At the time, the car had just under 46,000 miles. During the restoration, the engine's displacement was increased to 1,400cc. Upon competition in September 2012, the car was finished in graphite gray paint over a burgundy vinyl interior. It has a partial tool kit, and an original jack.

In 2012, the car was voted 'Best Open Car' at the Danville, California Concours d'Elegance.
