1976 Triumph TR6 Convertible Coupe

The Michelotti-styled TR6 was produced from 1969 to 1976. Though it appeared to be a new design, it was actually a facelift of the earlier Triumph TR4/4A/5/250, retaining the side panels and doors of the earlier cars. Resting on a small 88-inch wheelbase, the body-on-frame TR6 was powered by a 2.5-liter inline overhead valve six-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. An electric overdrive was offered as an option on the top three gears. The TR6 had an underslung independent rear axle, first introduced on the TR4A, along with disc brakes in the front and hydraulic drums in the rear.

During its production lifespan, nearly 92,000 examples were produced, with the majority sent to the North American market.

This example is finished in Inca Yellow and was delivered new by Downtown Motor Sales Ltd. in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to the Windsor Pallet Company and Mr. Louis Calsavara, in December of 1976. On July 28th 2011, the owner's estate advertised the car for sale, having been driven just 7,074 miles. A month later, it was sold to only its second owner and transported to British Columbia to return to running condition. In 2013, the car came into the ownership of its current owner.

This TR6 has the factory-built insulated steel hardtop. The original soft top has been replaced, as was the exhaust system. The original date-stamped redline Michelin tires remain on the car. It has a tonneau cover, luggage rack, two sets of spare ignition and door keys with tags, and Canadian registration and insurance papers. Currently, the odometer shows just 8,200 miles. The inside is finished in black vinyl with a leather-trimmed steering wheel and dark walnut veneer dashboard filled with traditional Smiths gauges.
