This Capri has been restored to 1972 FIA specs using one of two Westlake Essex 3,000cc engine known to exist. The engine was assembled by Ted Wenz of MWE and Savannah race Engineering. Power is fed through a ZF 5-speed transmission, as originally fitted and the factory six-link coil-over rear suspension is still on the original Atlas Axle. The wheels are original BBS 10-inch front and 12-inch back 15 inch diameter with treaded Avon tires. The four-wheel disc brakes and front suspension have been re-manufactured and are factory correct. All the original alloy pieces are highly polished and the car is finished in its original racing livery. A modern seat and fire-fighting equipment have been added.
The restoration was completed in 1998. The car has appeared at various vintage racing events around the United States. The car was featured in the '100th Anniversary of Ford Racing' held in Greenfield Village in 2001.
