1911 Maxwell Model EA Navigation
This 1911 Maxwell was built by the Maxwell-Brisco Co. in Tarrytown, NY. In 1911, Maxwell introduced many cutting-edge innovations for the time, including a three-speed progressive transmission, T-head, 4-cylinder, 30 horsepower engine mounted in a tripodal configuration, flywheel mounted in front of the engine instead of at the rear for superior crankshaft balance and state-of-the-art wooden body styling.
The current owner purchased this Maxwell from the original owner's family in unrestored condition in 1963. Its first restoration began in 1963 and finished in 1970. Speedwell Engineering of Canton, GA, has restored the Maxwell to its original condition after its initial restoration 40 years ago.
It is estimated there are only 15 Maxwell vehicles in existence today.
