1960 Fiat Jolly 600 Navigation
The Fiat 600 Jolly was a leisure vehicle for the affluent jet set crowd of the late 1950s. Jolly ('joker' in Italian) was designed by Dante Giacosa for Italian coachbuilder Ghia as a runabout for the beach house, golf course, or Mediterranean-gated communities.
Between 1958 and 1962, 32 Jollys were commissioned as taxis on Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles, CA. Over 2.5 million Fiat 600s were built, and fewer than 200 of the Jolly runabouts were produced. It is believed that just 100 examples are still in existence.
The Jolly models were produced in a variety of pastel shades with a fringed canopy and wicker seats.
This Fiat Jolly has been recently restored. Power is from a 633cc overhead valve 4-cylinder engine fitted with a single carburetor and offering 36.6 horsepower. There is a four-speed manual transmission and 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
