Gordon Murray's unique design for Motor Racing Developments, the stylish 1974 BT-44, signaled the return of the Brabham team to winning performance. Lead driver Carlos Reutemann won his third time out with the very effective little car and added two more wins by the end of 1974. At the season-ending United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, the Team Brabham BT-44's of Reutermann and Carlos Pace finished first and second and John Watson was fifth in the Hexago BT-44. The 1975 version, BT-44B, won two races.
