Former two-time World Champion Graham Hill established his own team in 973 with Embassy sponsorship. The team purchased a Shadow DN-1 for their first year in Formula One. 1974 saw Hill make an alliance with Lola Cars to produce the Lola T370 which was only mildly successful. In 1975, Hill broke with Lola and produced the GH-1. The car was a competent design for the new team and served to showcase the highly promising talents of Tony Brise. Sadly, Hill, Brise, designer Andy Smallman, and two team members were killed in a small plane crash in November 1975.
