1936 Packard Model 1400 Eight Navigation
In 1936, there were three 1400 series: the 1400, 1401, and 1402. There were only 3,975 of these Eight series Packards produced. This Packard is an 8-cylinder, 130 horsepower, four-door sedan which has seating for five passengers. This sedan has a 127-inch wheelbase and weighs 4,815 pounds. When it was introduced, it had a base price of $2,385.
The current owner acquired this car in 2012. The car is finished in silver and blue.
The 1936 Packard received a new numerical designation, but few other changes. There were no Thirteenth Series vehicles due to superstition reasons. The headlights received chrome strip ribs, and the radiator was sloped another five degrees. The Fourteenth Series had a Delco-Remy ignition with an octane selector and permanently lubricated clutch bearings. The 1400 was available as a sedan. The 1401 and 1402 added at least 17 additional body styles including coupe, roadster, sedan, sport phaeton, touring sedan, and limousine.
