1957 Ford F-100 Pickup

The all-new 1957 Ford F-100 marked the third generation of the ubiquitous F-series pickup. This radical square-edged design featured hidden running boards, flush-mounted front fenders, wraparound windshield and a dramatic full-width hood. A 139 horsepower, 223 cubic-inch six-cylinder engine was standard, but most Ford buyers powered-up with the optional 272 cubic-inch 'Y-block' V8 that offered 171 horsepower.

Also new for 1957 was the wide-box styling with integral rear fenders, which Ford called Styleside. The hugely influential Styleside merged functionality (including a wider tailgate and box compared to traditional pickups) with a distinctly modern appearance.

This F-100 Styleside pickup is finished in Starmist Blue and Colonial White. The current owner acquired it in 1999 because of its resemblance to his father's first new truck, which was used in the family plumbing business.
