1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Navigation
Rolls-Royce in the United Kingdom launched the replacement for the original Silver Ghost, the New Phantom, in May of 1925. The Phantom was built at the Springfield factory in the United States two years later. Now more usually known as the Phantom I, it featured a new pushrod straight-6 engine, which was a vast improvement over the Silver Ghost.
This example was initially delivered to A.H. Beck in Wayland Massachusetts. One of the last New Phantoms to be finished, it carries a unique body by Brewster & Co. of New York. Brewster built most of the bodies on the Springfield Phantom I chassis, and this example is similar in style to the Regent model and the Piccadilly Roadster.
