1958 Fiat 1200 TV Convertible

TV is for Turismo Veloce or 'fast touring' and transformable means convertible or spyder. A contemporary Transformabile that topped the 1957 Fiat range in America at a retail price of $2,498. The Fiat model number is 103G based on the then-still current 1100. The 1,221cc push-rod, 4-cylinders, and 55 horsepower (to TV spec.) and a 4-speed to push you and a companion to nearly 90 mph. Boulevard styling, much like the 1953 Corvette or Nash-Healey, with curved windshield and bright wheel covers, added to the attraction. Certainly a very decent, spirited driver, with style to match but not enough car for those dollars, and few sold. A replacement came for the 1959 model year.

This Fiat 1200 TV Trasformabile was acquired by its current caretakers in 2011. It was then treated to a comprehensive restoration to show quality, which was completed in 2013. It has a green convertible top, a Gray Beige exterior, and an upgraded green leather upholstery with white piping. There are twin fog lamps, whitewall tires, correct spin-off hubcaps, a discreet modern radio, plus a factory-type steering wheel.

The car was shown at the 2013 Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance and 2014 Concorso Italiano. It has been driven approximately 1,000 miles since the restoration was completed.
