1924 Renault 6CV Van

The Renault 6CV, also known as the Type NN, shared its basic design cues with its larger stalemates including Renault's signature 'shovel-nose' hood. The radiator placement between the engine and the fuel tank gave rise to the two filler caps located at the top of the hood. The NN models were reliable, durable, and capable of handling demanding situations. One example was tested over 203 continuous hours at the Circuit of Miramas in Southern France during 1926 where it covered a distance of 10,000 miles at an average speed of 49 mph. The following year, a 6CV became the first automobile to successfully complete a solo journey across the Sahara Desert.

Production of the Type NN reached around 150,000 units before being replaced by the enlarged NN2 in 1929.

This van-bodied 6CV Type NN was acquired from Cannes. It appears that Renault was used by a cinematic company there. It is an unrestored and original vehicle that is still in working condition. The engine is a 951cc four-cylinder unit fitted with a single Solex carburetor and offering 8.3 horsepower. There is a three-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes.
