The six-cylinder F-Type Magna made its debut in October of 1931. They were positioned above the four-cylinder M-Type Midget and given several distinctive features, including a long hood, a slanted grille, and a 1271cc single overhead cam six-cylinder engine. They were given varied coachwork on the low chassis and designed for sporty touring. They had success in rallies, record runs, and circuit races. In total, just 1,062 were produced to 1933 in F1, F2, and F3 sub-models plus 188 chassis for specialists coachbuilders.
Chassis number F0715 is one of five originally fitted with alloy coachwork by Abbey Panels. As few as three examples are known to have survived. The car retains its original U.K. registration plate and spent most of its life in the United Kingdom. It spent three decades in a museum prior to a complete nut-and-bolt restoration completed during the late 1990s. In the early 2000s, an American collector acquired the car while working overseas. It was then shipped stateside and was housed within his Florida-based collection of British automobiles and motorcycles over the next decade.
This F-Type Magna Tourer has painted wire wheels, Rotax headlamps, an Auster folding windscreen, black canvas weather equipment, and a leather-trimmed cockpit with polished controls.
