1925 Pierce-Arrow Model 33 Navigation
Dr. E.C. Leedam reportedly paid $6,000 for the bare chassis and another $7,000 for the car's Derham Body custom coachwork. Pierce-Arrow did not offer a factory convertible on the 138-inch wheelbase Model 80 chassis. It is believed that this was one of the first automobiles produced with suicide-style rear-hinged doors. This convertible coupe was given a special-ordered Airflex front bumper and custom door lighting under the sills and in the rear passenger compartment.
The car's ownership has included Dr. Albert G. Hill, a leader in the development of radar during World War II. Dr. Roland Berger gave the car its original restoration in the mid-1970s. Another owner of this car was Clayton Stone from Monmouth, Oregon. In the late 1990s, another rebuild of the car's engine and other mechanicals was undertaken.
This Pierce-Arrow is finished in two shades of cream. The 415 cubic-inch T-head six-cylinder engine offers 70 horsepower, and there is a three-speed manual transmission.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2014
