2005 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

On November 5th of 2004, at the Miami Auto Show, Ford debuted a new Special Edition Ford Thunderbird in honor of the 50th anniversary of America's original 'personal luxury car.' The first example was built on January 3rd of 2005, and only 1,500 were produced, with the majority being delivered to their original owners in early 2005.

All of the 50th Anniversary Thunderbirds were finished in tri-color Cashmere metallic paint and had a matching removable hardtop and Medium Light Stone cloth convertible top. Inside was leather and the wheels were color-coordinated to match, with special insignias embossed on the seatbacks below the Thunderbird logo. The steering wheel and shift knob were trimmed with high-gloss Cashmere accents.

This particular example has recorded just 68 actual miles. The tonneau for the soft-top and the stand for the hardtop have never been used, and they are still wrapped in their factory plastic.

The engine is a dual overhead cam V8 unit fitted with a sequential multiport fuel injection and offering 252 horsepower. There is a close-ratio five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and there are four-wheel power-operated hydraulic disc brakes with ABS.
