1925 Hupmobile Model E-1 Navigation
The Hupp Motor Car Company was founded in 1908 by Robert and Louis Hupp. They produced a wide variety of cars during their 32 years of operation, with the early cars being aimed at a more entry-level market. By the mid-1920s they had moved up-market, into the higher-price bracket with the introduction of their new eight-cylinder engine. For 1925, the Hupmobiles could be purchased with either a four-cylinder or the more powerful L-head inline eight-cylinder engine offering 60 brake horsepower. The eight-cylinder models commanded a price tag of nearly $2,000, a substantial increase over of the equivalent four-cylinder model.

This particular restored Hupmobile Eight E Series Touring car is finished in a shade of Orange over a brown interior, with yellow wooden-spoke wheels wrapped in wide whitewall tires. It has etched glass wind wings and a period-correct 'Ooooh-Gaaa' horn. The L-head engine displaces 247 cubic inches and offers 60 horsepower. There is a three-speed manual transmission and hydraulic drum brakes.
