1962 Imperial Crown Navigation
The Series SY-1-M 1962 Imperial Crowns retained the 129-inch wheelbase and freestanding headlamps of their predecessors. The new rear-end treatment was easily identified by freestanding gun sight tail lamps. Inside the car were 6-way seats, a handbrake warning signal, an electric clock, a center armrest, power windows, and triple cigarette lighters. They also had power brakes and a 340 horsepower engine with 470 foot pounds of torque.
The custom-built Crown Imperial limousines were no longer offered, and the cars formerly referred to as Imperial Crowns became Crown Imperials. The Crown name and emblem could be found on the rear fenders, located just below the taillights.By Daniel Vaughan | Dec 2014
