The 1960 Volkswagen Beetle was given several updates over the previous year's model, making it more comfortable and usable. The front-seat passengers now had a footrest, padded sun visors were added - replacing the former transparent plastic units, and the seat backs were contoured. The plastic headlining replaced the earlier mouse hair fabric. The pull-type door handles were replaced with pushbutton grab-type handles. The driver had a dish-style steering wheel. Bodystyles included a convertible, sedan, and a sunroof sedan. Power was from a rear-mounted, horizontally opposed, overhead-valve four-cylinder unit offering 36 (SAE) horsepower. They had a worm and nut steering and four-wheel manual transmission.
This particular example has a factory rag top sunroof, turn signal discs, side head lamp lenses, a rare Moto-Meter dash gauge package, and was treated to a ground-up restoration. The original owner was Sgt. John Lesko from Fritz Killian Volkswagen of Wiesbaden Germany.
