2013 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible

This Chevy Camaro is a Hot Wheels Edition, a $7,000 upgrade when new. The history of the Hot Wheels edition dates back to 1968 when Mattel introduced their new line of Hot Wheels toy cars called the 'Sweet 16 Hot Wheels' edition. The set included 16 1/43 scale toy cars which included the popular Pony Cars of the day. In 2013, 45 years later Chevrolet commemorated the series with a 'Hot Wheels Sweet 16' edition, life size Camaro. These cars were available in four versions, including the Coupe and Convertible, with either a V6 or V8 engine. This option package included a special deluxe grey interior with Hot Wheels badging, black stitching and embroidered upholstery. Special blue metallic exterior paint and special mag wheels identified the outside of the car to look like the original Hot Wheels toy. This option could be ordered with of any the Camaro engine options.

Chevrolet used the Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible as a promotional tool at the Indianapolis 500 in 2013. The Camaros at the Indy 500 were all automatic, had some graphics on them, and then were returned to Chevrolet dealers to be sold as used cars.

This particular example is still in the wrapper with just 2,500 on the odometer. It is one of just 57 Hot Wheels Camaro convertibles with a manual transmission and eight cylinder engine.
