Nudie Cohn was the famed 'Rodeo Tailor to the Stars,' who first gained prominence in the early 1950s as the personal tailor for Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. He made more headlines creating a $10,000 gold lamE suit for Elvis Presley. He was also known for his treatment of automobiles for some of Nashville's flamboyant stars. Audrey Williams, the widow of country music legend Hank Williams, acquired the 'Silver Dollar Car' as a promotional vehicle for her son, Hank Williams Jr. This vehicle is one of only nine 'Nudiemobiles' known to exist today. It features highly collectible silver dollars dating from 1922 to 1934, chrome-plated pistols, horseshoes, miniature horses and rifles. Some of the items function as replacements for interior and exterior door handles, switches and controls. Externally, the six-foot wide Texas longhorns on the front leave an imposing impression while the rear of the car has a full continental trunk emblazoned with the name 'Hank Jr.' in chrome letter on the wheel cover which is another signature Nudie feature.
