1904 Oldsmobile Model 6C Standard Runabout

    The highly successful Oldsmobile run-a-about fondly referred to as the Curved Dash Olds entered production in 1901 and continued until 1907. Total production is estimated in of 11,000 automobiles. Ransom E. Olds left the company in 1904 and started producing cars under the name of REO. The Curved Dash Olds represents an industry first of mass production utilizing interchangeable parts. The car was simple in design, rugged and reliable. Cost of the basic version was $650. This Curved Dash was owned by the notable early automobile collector Barney Pollard, but prior ownership is unknown. It remained in the Pollard collection until begin acquired in the mid-1980s by Steve Moskowitz, then an Oldsmobile dealer, later to become the Executive Director of AACA. Steve had the vehicle restored and received a national award from AACA in 1988. He sold the car and after several changes of ownership it spent time in an Ocean City, Maryland museum. The current owners purchased the car in 2012 after the museum closed.
