This Aston Martin DB5 was ordered new by Mr. Peter Baraban Junior of Chicago, IL. It left the factory finished in Fiesta Red with a traditional black Connolly leather interior. Non-standard equipment included a Normalair air conditioner, a Bosch Koln TR radio with power antenna, heated rear screen, 3.73 limited-slip differential, engine breather valve scheme, chrome wheels, and a Borg-Warner automatic transmission.Mr. Baraban Jr. sold the car in 1970 to its current owners. Over the next several decades, the car would be used sparingly as evidenced by the sub-35,000 miles present on the odometer. In 2008, the car was given a no-expense-spared restoration, with parts sourced from the U.K. firm of Richard Stewart Williams Limited of Surrey, England, and shipped back to the Midwest. Barry Sale of PHP Racengines Inc in Wauconda, Illinois completed the engine build and tuning work. Coachtrim LLC of Danbury, Connecticut finished the interior. The chrome work was done by The Finishing Touch Inc of Chicago.This DB5 wears a Silver Birch exterior with Connolly leather, wood grain steering wheel, and is powered by a 4-liter inline-6 cylinder engine. With 3 SU carburetors, the engine offers 282 horsepower at 5,500 RPM. There is an independent front suspension, a live rear axle with coil springs, and four-wheel disc brakes.
Since the restoration was completed, the car has been used sparingly. It was shown at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in 2015 where it was an award winner.
