1932 Stutz Model DV-32 Super Bearcat

This is one of the few limited-production Super Bearcats built by the Stutz Motor Car Co. of America in Indianapolis, In. It is basically a factory hot-rod of sorts, mating the powerful DV-32 dual overhead cam straight-eight engine with an extra short 116-inch wheelbase chassis and fitted with lightweight 2-seat open coachwork by Weymann. While a few Super Bearcats were constructed using Weymann's fabric over wood structure technique, this is one of several with aluminum over wood structure. The DV-32 engine with its double overhead cam with four valves per cylinder, along with the double-barreled downdraft carburetor setup created a power-plant capable of propelling the longer-wheel-based Bearcat to a guaranteed 100 mph, meaning the lighter-weight Super Bearcat could exceed that. State-of-the-art adjustable vacuum-assist brakes saw to it that the car could also be stopped safely.
