Known as the 'W186' the Type 300 was launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show in November of 1951. It featured an all-new three liter six cylinder engine, with an overhead camshaft in an aluminum cylinder head that initially produced 113 horsepower and fed power through a 4-speed all synchronized transmission. By 1954, the 300B was released. It featured a power increase to 125 horsepower, vacuum assisted power brakes and front door vent windows. It was acquired by the current owner in 2005. Three years later a frame-off restoration was begun. It was completed in 2012.
