1919 Ford Model TT Type C Single Tanker

This 1919 Ford Model TT Type C Single Tanker was offered for sale at the 2007 RM Auctions at Meadow Brook where it was offered without reserve and estimated to sell for $25,000 - $45,000. It is an excellent example of an era gone by. It retains its original paint, drive-train and body. The coachwork was constructed by American-LaFrance Firefighting Equipment Company and constructed on a 1919 Model TT 1-ton chassis.

This fire tanker retains its original compliment of fire fighting equipment including its chemical tank, hoses and nozzles, axes, two ladders, and a siren and bell. It has a mechanical starter, electric lights and pneumatic tires.

This was one of the more unique vehicles at the auction, and certainly the only fire truck to cross the auction block. Its 128-inch wheelbase makes it suitable for tailoring or to be housed in most modern garages. Bidders at this years RM Auctions at Meadow Brook realized this vehicles potential and drove bidding to the high point in the estimated value. Bidding settled at $44,000 and the vehicle found itself a new owner.
