1984 Porsche 956C Coupe

  • Chassis Number: 956-118
The Porsche 956 and it's variants were built to dominate the Le Mans 24 Hour and after seven Le Mans victories, five Daytona 24 Hour wins, six driver world championships, five manufacturer and team world championships and four IMSA series championships these cars earned the title of the most successful race car of all time.

This Porsche 956 is the last customer chassis built. It was sent to Nova Engineering to help them re-build the team's chassis number 108, which had been nearly destroyed by a fire. During its racing career, it was raced exclusively in Japan by Vern Schuppan. It won the Fuji 500 mile race in 1984 where it was driven by Schuppan and Yoshimi Katayama. The following year, Schuppan and Keiichi Suzuki won the Fuji 1000 km.

In July of 1985, the car's racing career came to an end due to a fire. Since that time, it has been completely restored.
