The Toyota Jeep BJ went into production in 1953 and by 1960, the newly styled 40-Series Land Cruise was introduced. It brought with it a selection of engine options and an upgraded chassis. The Land Cruise would remain in production for over two decades.
This particular FJ40 hardtop example has been given a recent restoration. It was purchased by the restoration firm of Woodys, Wagens & Classic Cruisers in Sheridan, Wyoming from the family of the original owner. A full restoration was completed in 2013. It is finished in red with a white hardtop and gray painted wheels, which is believed to be the original color scheme. The interior of the Land Cruise is gray and the vehicle remains largely stock. It has been given a few improvements including an OME suspension kit, stainless steel exhaust, and seat belts for all passenger.
