Chassis #: 144
This current owner purchased this 1989 Shelby CSX-VNT from the second owner in Fort Wayne, Indiana. These were Shelby's fifth series of numbered vehicles in his modification of six various models over a three year span. Only 500 of these cars were produced. These cars showcased the most comprehensive alterations Shelby made to any Dodge during his involvement with Chrysler during the 1980s thru early 1990s.

This car is powered by a 2.2-liter intercooled TIV Motor with a555 5-speed Getrag transmission rated at 175 horsepower and 205 ft-lb of torque. It was factory equipped with a Garrett VNT Turbo (first production car in the world to come equipped, no turbo lag). It has a one-year-only Shelby emblazoned interior (seats, door panels) coupled with Shelby floormats and sill plats. There is Shelby specific badging (numbered dash plaque, CSX nameplate, steering wheel, horn button, boost gauge, sill plate inserts).

On the exterior, it has a one-year-only grille, Kaminari-designed ground effects package (front air dam, lower door cladding, side air dams, rear air dam, and spoiler). There is also Shelby engraved 'Fiberide' composite 15 x 6.5 'factory gold rims' constructed of a fiberglass reinforced plastic, Shelby specific badging including the rear hatch emblem, Mobil 1 plaque, Engine Serial Number plaque, additional VIN tag, and gold decals. Also, there are Direct Connection window louvers.

Dodge Shelby CSX ShadowThis car was shipped from Shelby's Whittier, CA plant to Southside Dodge in Indianapolis, IN on June 9, 1989 (invoice number 07-195) where first owner purchased it on July 3, 1989 with 20 miles on the odometer for $17,744.59. The original owner owned #144 for less than a year (200 miles were on the odometer). The CSX was placed in the Kessler-Schaefer Auto Auction where Bell Auto and Truck Sales was the winning bidder on April 5, 1990. The second owner purchased it from them for around $12,000 on March 31, 1990. The current caretaker acquired it on July 13, 2011 after locating it on Craigslist on July 4, 2011.
