A Chevrolet 350 CID 420 horsepower V8 powers the car through a 2.88 rear axle. Intake is 4 x Weber 45DCOE carburetors. There is a special cam, and the engine has had head and port work including high-strength connecting rods. It has an aluminum body built on a new and improved tubular space frame that allowed more legroom that the prototype. This Spyder sits atop a newly designed tubular chassis, fitted with a Bizzarrini-designed independent rear suspension and Koni shocks. Other unique attributes of this car are the multi-functional roof, an interior with bucket seats, a center glove box, a sliding rear window, and a side draft magnesium manifold with four Weber carburetors topping the 420 horsepower 427 cubic-inch Chevrolet V8. Magnesium was used for several components including the 10-quart oil pan and the disc brakes.
