1956 Jaguar XK-D D-Type Navigation
Amateur driver and motorcycle racer Paul Pfohl took delivery of this black Jaguar D-Type in February 1956 and maintained possession of it until 2004. It was entered in a number of East Coast races early in its life, and in 1959 it won its final race at the one-mile dirt track at Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, New York. After moving to California in 1960, the car was occasionally used for track days, giving passengers a ride around a track - and one passenger, Zsa Zsa Gabor, apparently came back with her hair standing about three-feet high. After moving to Oregon in 1967, Pfohl parked the car in his garage with 6,230 miles on it and with all of its original mechanicals, black paint and red leather interior intact. Today, it is possibly the most original Jaguar D-Type in the world.
