1929 Hispano Suiza H6B Cabriolet de Ville

The Hispano-Suiza H6B features a 6.6-liter, 6-cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft that produces around 135 horsepower, and it was the first production car to have power-assisted brakes on all four wheels. Despite its name, Hispanos were built in Colombes near Paris.

This elegant 1929 Hispano-Suiza H6B Cabriolet de Ville boasts special coachwork by Hibbard et Darrin and was delivered to Major Grace of the Grace Steamship Company. Thomas Hibbard and Howard Darrin were two American designers who moved to Paris and set up a coachbuilding company whose designs were fashionable and exuberant. This Cabriolet de Ville was restored in the 1980s but it retains many original features, including the Nivex gas gauge, the Jaeger eight-day clock, and the original trunk with fitted luggage mounted at the rear. It has its original French Cicca horns and Marchal headlamps and in the rear is a speaking tube needed to communicate with the chauffeur.
