1972 ISO Grifo Series II CanAm Coupe

Giorgetto Giugiaro, while working for Bertone, styled the Iso Grifo around Giotto Bizzarrini mechanicals for Renzo Rivolta's Iso Company in Bresso, Italy. The Series II Grifo was the result of styling changes beginning in 1970 that produced a 'sleeker, lower look' to the nose with hide-away headlamps. The raised hood scoop remained because of the height of the engine. Iso Grifo's history is 'spattered with pot holes' but what is fact is that the cars were mighty fast from the beginning, mostly due to the installation of a healthy, often huge, American V8. The Series II Can Am used a 7-liter Chevrolet big block to become one of only 23 or 24 cars made to this specification.
