1980 Porsche 928 Coupe

The 1980 Porsche 928 was two model years post the original launch of the series and was without any major specification changes. Porsche themselves, their North American dealers, and, of course, their targeted market of buyers, were all getting used to the big, front-mounted, water-cooled V8 gran turismo car sitting next to the 911s (and the 924s) in the dealer lot. It took some getting used to.....Porsche was changing. 911 sales had been declining and there was fear that rear-engine cars might be banned from sale. Of course, the 911 won over and stayed and the 928, together with its other stable mate series, the 924/944/968, all ultimately disappeared.
