2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe

The Sting Ray name debuted on the C2 platform (second generation Corvette) in 1963 and was designed by Larry Shinoda. In its first year, 1963 only, the famous 'split window' was produced. In 1968, the third generation Corvette (C3) was introduced and the name was changed to one word, Stingray. Its dramatic sweeping lines were based on the Mako Shark II concept and lasted until the 1982 model year.

Now in its seventh generation, the C7 Corvette brought back the Stingray name and proudly displays a new Stingray emblem on the front fenders. The styling of this vehicle takes a dramatic turn from the previous car with chiseled edges deep grills to keep the car cool and feed with fresh air. Constructed on an aluminum space frame, and carbon-nano composite underbody panels provide a very lightweight, stiff chassis. The new supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LT4 engine delivers over 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This massive power combined with the high-tech chassis propels this car to 60 mph in under 3 seconds.

Adding to the driving pleasure, five distinct, selectable driver modes electronically calibrate up to 12 performance variables to customize the car for any road.

Finally, to unleash all of this onto the tarmac, special tires were developed exclusively for the Stingray, Michelin Pilot Super Sport Pressure tires optimizing ride, grip and handling.
