The Mercer Series 6 would be the final Mercer model built, marking the end of one of the greatest names in early American motoring. The Mercer Company did built a prototype in 1931, but it would prove to be too little too late.

The Series 6 was produced during the final three years of Mercer production and was the successor to the previous Series 5 which had been powered by Eric Delling's L-head four. The Mercer Series 6 was the company's first six-cylinder automobile, with the powerplant supplied by the Rochester Company mated to a transmission by Brown & Lipe. It was produced during an era where there was little money to build it and only a few customers had the finances to buy it. Production began in July of 1923 and stopped in March of 1924. Production resumed in early 1925 and finished that June with production reaching just 153 units. In modern times, there are just 16 Series 6 Mercers known to survive.

This particular example is a Sporting, which is essentially a four-passenger version of the Raceabout. It has leather door saddles and dual cockpits for the driver, his copilot, and two passengers aft. The earliest known owner of this car was Mr. Stiritz. It was eventually acquired by Harrah's Automobile Collection, of Sparks, Nevada. It was then acquired from Harrah's in 1986 by the late Joe Loecy, of Cleveland, Ohio. Ownership then passed to Alfred Ferrara, of Gates Mills, Ohio. In 2012, ownership passed to Richard Roy.

This Series 6 was given a restoration in the late 1980s, with the body finished in pale blue with black fenders. There is a maroon leather interior, a correct Mercer-badged Boyce MotoMeter atop the radiator and proper Mercer-badged Rudge-Whitworth wire wheels, finished in red, including the dual rear-mounted spares.
